Hey guys,

first of all, I'd like to commend you for finding and thank you for visiting our new web site. It's a shame I was so lazy about updating the other site. I'll try to be better now. My thanks go out to Hans Settler who will run this site. Have a look at Hans's wonderful comprehensive site insurgentcountry.com if you have the time.

Let me bring you up to date: Our album "The Devil And The Open Road" was released in November. We're very happy with the reviews it received. We'll soon have a reviews section up on this site. And I'd like to thank everyone who bought the album whether you liked it or not. If you liked it, feel free to email me to Rill@bigfoot.com

In December we played a short tour of Germany which included a wonderful gig in Assen/Netherlands. Other high points of the tour were the gigs we played with Todd Thibaud and his band, especially the ones in Heilbronn and Frankfurt/M.

We kinda layed low early this year as the Captain, our bass player, graduated from Wuerzburg university in March. He'll stick around, though, pursuing a PhD in philosophy. In our gig-less time, we rehearsed a whole bunch of new songs that those of you who saw us recently in Frankfurt/M. (Dreikönigskeller) or in Craponne/France have already heard. I think we have some strong new songs and some surprises as well. There are a few more new songs written, that we'll start rehearsing as soon as this current string of gigs is through. Check the live dates section for our upcoming shows and come see us play.

As of yet, we have vague plans of starting to record the follow-up to "Devil And The Open Road" in late summer/fall of this year. It seems that spring 2001 would be a probable release date.
In closing I'd like to thank the current band members Rüz Löser (drums), Ed Staab (guitar) and the captain, Andreas Reif (bass, violin, vocal). I'm really happy with our current line-up. We get along wonderfully and we're sounding better with every gig.

Take care,
Markus

PS: I almost forgot...Dennis Schütze who was a Gunslinger for about a year or so released an album with his compadre Hans Stückle under the name of "Schütze & Stückle – Leave The Blues Behind." The album includes a rendition of a song I wrote called "West Texas Moon."
