Rose’s Song
(words & music by Markus Rill)

Rose curled herself up in her quilt and never said a word
I love my little sister and I can tell when she’s hurt
Rosie never said a thing, I never would have known
But the boy he bragged in high-school ‘bout the fun he had with Rose

Rose was barely budding, getting’ ever prettier every day
Rosie she got torn and Rose she learned to pray
Rose, my little sister, badly hurt and brave
She did what I could never do, Rose she forgave

Rose went to the preacher and there she talked and there cried
She told him things she told no-one, in him she could confide
Now Rose hardly ever talks to me, I think I understand
To her I’m not a brother, to her I’m just a man

Rose was barely budding, getting’ ever prettier every day
Rosie she got torn and Rose she learned to pray
Rose, my little sister, badly hurt and brave
She did what I could never do, Rose she forgave

Rosie never blossomed but I believe she’s doin’ ok
Least when I ask her how she’s doin’, that’s she always has to say
And that boy he’d better watch out, I know where he lives
And I’ll never do like Rosie done, I’ll never forgive

Rose was barely budding, getting’ ever prettier every day
Rosie she got torn and Rose she learned to pray
Rose, my little sister, badly hurt and brave
She did what I could never do, Rose she forgave
