Würzburg, October 13, 2004

Hey everybody,

welcome to www.markusrill.net

Thank you everyone for coming out to our recent string of Gunslinger gigs in Lauchhammer, on Gut Albrock and in our hometown of Würzburg. The Gunslingers were sounding really great on all those gigs and we were definitely having a ball.

Right now, Seattle's finest, Rachel Harrington, and I have started putting together our set for the Hillbilly Guesthouse festival on October 23 in Neusüdende. I'm sure that'll be a fun festival. Rach and I will be playing in an acoustic quartet with Gunslinger Patrik Gröhn on guitar, mandolin, and accordion and upright bassist Bernie Batke of Smokestack Lightnin'. Damn, he's good. I'm really loooking forward to playing that show and seeing the other performers on the bill: Last Train Home, Steve Wedemeyer, and Bill Clifton.

In the upcoming months, Rachel and I will be playing a whole string of duo gigs here in Germany. That should be fun and something different, too.

And in January, folks, I'm crossing the big pond to play some shows in the US. I got a confirmation to play Western Beat in Nashville and for that show I'll be backed by the guys who recorded "Hobo Dream" with me. That's going to be a great night, I'm sure. I'm also very excited about the other shows up in the great northwest.

That's the news for now, folks. Keep checkin' in, sign the guest book, come on out to the shows and say "hi".

Looking forward to seeing you guys soon,
Markus
