Würzburg, October 9, 2007

Howdy folks,

once more for those of you who missed last month's news: The release of the new album "The Things That Count" has been pushed back to January 18, 2008. We're in the planning stages of putting together a short tour of Germany for late January/early February 2008. If you wanna see us live, just book us.

Until then, enjoy the "Live" CD that's still available for 10 Euros plus postage (send an email to markusrill@yahoo.com to order). And check out the live video of "Me & Bonnie Parker" at www.myspace.com/markusrill

Got a major trip coming up at the end of this month. On October 28 I'll be flying over to Nashville to attend the Americana Music Conference, maybe play a show or two (confirmed so far is a Nov. 6 appearance at the Family Wash), and meet up with some fine fine musicians to co-write some songs with. My publishers have hooked me up with Phil Madeira and I'm real thrilled to be meeting him and working with him. He currently plays in Buddy Miller's most excellent band, has produced a fantastic record for Greg Trooper, and has written a bunch of songs that were cut by major artists like Alison Krauss and Keb' Mo'. So this promises to be real interesting.

Next weekend I'll make my way up to the north of Germany. I'm looking forward to playing a solo show at Headcrash in Oldenburg on October 13. I hear the venue is run by the coolest hairdresser in Oldenburg - it's certainly the first hair salon I'll ever be performing at. Maybe I'll make a career out of doing so.

We had a couple nice gigs in September. On September 22 I was joined by Robert Oberbeck at the Künstlerkeller Bronnbach in Würzburg. Robert's a real fine songwriter and I always enjoy hooking up with him. Do check him out at www.robertoberbeck.de
On September 29, Andi and I took our show to the Gasthaus Sorgenfrei in Altendorf/Bavaria and made many new friends. We had a great time.

I almost forget. We had major media coverage lately. The deutsche presse agentur (dpa, German press ageny), the German equivalent of AP or Reuters, a highly respected source of information, wrote an article on me that ran in a number of  German newspapers and other publications. Very cool. Check it out in the reviews section.

I'm looking forward to seeing y'all around. Come out to the shows or drop us a line,
Markus
